Thermomechanical study of epoxy vitrimers

23.05.23

Recently, an attractive chemical strategy to introduce plasticity in crosslinked polymer networks, such as epoxy resins, is offered by the introduction of dynamic covalent bonds. In this context, vitrimers, a class of covalent adaptable networks (CANs), attracted huge interests in materials chemistry field.

Through VIBES project, SPECIFIC POLYMERS is notably working on the development of new dynamic chemistries for epoxy vitrimers. To characterize and to evaluate the dynamic properties of these types of crosslinked structures, thermal analysis and rheological experiments need to be investigated. Aiming at that, vitrimers developed by SPECIFIC POLYMERS are subjected to thermomechanical studies with DSC, TGA, stress relaxation and DMA experiments.
