Biobased reactive diluents: new progress on the development of sustainable epoxy resin for infusion process
18.04.22
Room temperature infusion process requires low viscosity epoxy resin typically lower than 1500cPs @25°C. To reach this level of viscosity, epoxy resins are most of the time formulated with reactive diluents. In VIBES project, SPECIFIC POLYMERS has been developing a series of biobased reactive diluents which allow to reach Tg higher than 90°C while maintaining the resin viscosity compatible with low temperature infusion process. More importantly, these biobased reactive diluents are currently combined with sustainable epoxy resins developed by SPECIFIC POLYMERS to avoid the use of DGEBA and its derivatives. |
